Ana Ramirez
Ana Ramirez is a visual journalist with The San Diego Union-Tribune. She shares stories of San Diego and Tijuana communities with a focus on border and environmental issues. She previously was a video journalist at the Austin American-Statesman. Since ing the Union-Tribune, she has produced two short-form documentaries. "Que Viva El Barrio" focuses on how industry and homes have co-existed in Barrio Logan, a predominantly Chicano community on San Diego's waterfront. The most recent film, "La Comunidad," is about a network of transgender asylum seekers who turn to their own community to find freedom in the United States.
