
Sustainable Solutions Fair
On Sunday, June 22, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., I Love A Clean San Diego and the City of Encinitas will host the Sustainable Solutions Fair—a free, family-friendly event dedicated to low-waste living and environmental stewardship. Now in its 10th year, the fair brings together San Diego residents, businesses, and nonprofits to showcase sustainable practices through education, hands-on activities, and community connection.Attendees can explore eco-conscious vendor booths, hear from local sustainability experts during a live speaker , and take part in engaging DIY workshops. Encinitas Cruise Nights
The Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association has started its 26th annual presentation of Encinitas Cruise Nights, including new and familiar car clubs and awesome local live bands.
The series is held on the third Thursday of May through September, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p,m. Future Cruise Nights this year will be held on June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, and Sept. 18. As always, Encinitas 101 welcomes all classic and vintage vehicles to this free monthly event, where drivers take spaces along Coast Highway 101 and in adjacent parking lots, or simply cruise up and down the main street. Switchfoot Bro-Am concert
Switchfoot Bro-Am returns for its 21st year, with the Benefit Party and then the Beach Fest, celebrating music, surfing and community while raising money for San Diego youth beneficiaries. The Benefit Party will kick off the festivities from 6 to 10 p.m. on June 19, followed by the free, family-friendly Beach Fest from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 21 at Encinitas’ Moonlight Beach. Batiquitos Lagoon to hold nature walk on rarely-visited trail
Batiquitos Lagoon will hold a nature walk on June 21 at 10 am. the event for a docent-led, moderately strenuous hike up a rarely-visited trail, where participants can explore interesting twists and turns and fabulous views. It is recommended to wear a hat and hiking boots as well as carry water. This free, family walk is good for all ages. Meet at the Nature Center, 7380 Gabbiano Lane, Carlsbad. Surf club holds art contest
The Windansea Surf Club is taking submissions through June 15 for its Menehune Art Contest. The contest is open to youths ages 18 and younger. Artists can submit up to three pieces and do not have to be club . The winner will receive a cash prize of $150, and the art will be featured on event promotional material, including poster, program and T-shirt. Free Pet Vaccination Clinic
The Rancho Coastal Humane Society will host a free Pet Vaccination Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon June 14, while supplies last, at Brock’s Pet Food Bank on the animal shelter’s North Campus at 389 Requeza St. Vaccinations include DAPP for dogs, H for cats, and rabies. There will also be microchips and pet food. Dogs must be on leash or in carriers, and cats must be in carriers. RSVP is required at rchumanesociety.org.
Yoga, sound therapy for cancer patients
A free class hosted by Scripps Cancer Center, combining yoga and sound therapy, is from 11 a.m. to noon June 21 at Scripps Encinitas Rehabilitation Services, 1092 N. El Camino Real, for cancer patients and their caregivers. Participants can rest or move gently through simple stretches with sounds from singing bowls, chimes, drums and gongs. at 858-554-3488. Roy Jenuine: Modern Folk Art exhibit in Solana Beach
Leucadia-based mixed media artist Roy Jenuine will host an exhibit – Roy Jenuine: Modern Folk Art – in Solana Beach, showcasing a lifetime of work from 1978 through today. Greek Food and Cultural Festival
The 54th annual San Diego Greek Food and Cultural Festival is from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 14 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 15 at Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 3655 Park Blvd. Live bands will perform traditional and contemporary Greek music, and youth dance troupes will perform folk dances in traditional costumes. Greek food, pastries and Greek beer and wine will be sold.
