Re “Students challenge professors relying on ChatGPT” (May 26): Kudos to Ella Stapleton, a student at Northeastern University who figured out that one of her professors had solicited information from ChatGPT while preparing lecture notes for her class. It turns out that while the professor instructed the students not to use ChatGPT, he himself was using it. She filed a formal complaint.
Personally, I am pleasantly surprised to know about this since I had assumed everyone “cheated.” And this is a form of cheating. For the prices charged at these universities, it is unthinkable that the professors would be using AI while tellingtheir students not to use it. Good for her!
