Two days after a run-in with the left-field wall at Petco Park, Gavin Sheets is back in the lineup — at DH and in the five-hole — for Game 2 at Oracle Park.

First pitch is at 6:45 p.m.

Sheets came away from Sunday’s game contending with a sore hip, a head contusion and a jammed wrist and thumb. He did not start Monday in San Francisco, but he grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning, all but confirming that Sheets would return to the starting lineup on Tuesday.

“Sheets is going to be good to go,” Padres manager Mike Shildt said late Monday night. “Unless something dramatic happens, there’s a good chance he’ll be back in there (Tuesday).”

The left-handed-hitting Sheets leads the team with 34 RBIs, is second with 11 homers and is third among qualifiers with an .813 OPS. What’s more, Sheets has ed for five of the team’s 12 homers over the last two weeks and has a team-best .854 OPS over that span (the team has a .598 OPS).

With Sheets back in the lineup as a DH, everyone is at their usual spot save for Tyler Wade, who is receiving his fourth start in left field as the Padres continue to search for options while Jason Heyward (oblique) is on the injured list.

Sheets was starting his seven game in left field on Sunday when he was injured tracking a home run ball.

The other active players who have started in left field this year are Brandon Lockridge (10) and Jose Iglesias (1).

Wade (.615 OPS) will bat eighth, between second baseman Jake Cronenworth (.805 OPS) and catcher Martín Maldonado (.472 OPS).

Manny Machado (.846 OPS) is back in the field at third base after serving as a DH on Monday.

Before the game, the Padres optioned right-hander Bradgley Rodriguez to Triple-A El Paso to make room for right-hander Ryan Bergert to come up from El Paso to make the start.

The 21-year-old Rodriguez struck out a batter, hit a batter and walked a batter while throwing 1⅔ innings last weekend in his MLB debut.

Monday’s win moved the Padres (34-24) to within a game of the Dodgers (36-24) in the NL West.

Here is how the Giants (33-27, 3rd in NL West) will line up for Game 2:

Tuesday’s pitching matchup

Padres RHP Ryan Bergert (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

The 25-year-old rookie will be recalled for his first MLB start. He threw four shutout innings over four appearances in relief during his first big-league stint, striking out two, allowing one hit and hitting one batter. He has a 3.75 ERA in 36 innings this year at Triple-A El Paso and has allowed two runs over 13⅓ innings since returning to the Pacific Coast League, holding hitters to a .531 OPS over four starts.

Giants RHP Landen Roupp (3-4, 3.54 ERA)

The second-year pitcher has a 3.55 ERA in 106⅓ innings since working between the rotation and the bullpen while making his debut last year. Roupp has worked strictly as a starter this season and allowed two earned runs over fewer in all five starts in May (1.73 ERA). The Padres beat Roupp in late April in San Diego (4⅓ IP, 4 ER).
