Preview: Both programs are playing in their first section championship softball games. … Calipatria comes in on a four-game winning streak, during which the Hornets have averaged 15.2 runs per game. … Warner Springs is hot, riding a 14-game winning streak. The Wildcats are averaging 20.3 runs in the playoffs and 16 for the season. The teams have met twice this season with Warner Springs winning 15-6 and 18-12.
Division 5: (2) La Jolla (12-13) vs. (1) Lincoln (18-12), 7 p.m.
Preview: La Jolla has won one section title, Division 4 in 2017. Lincoln is playing in its first title game. … The teams split two meetings, La Jolla winning 23-2 and Lincoln winning 20-8. … The Vikings’ Jerri Taylor, a junior, is hitting .662, has driven in 53 runs with 17 doubles, a triple and 11 home runs. Three others Vikings hit .417, .444 and .451. … Ashly Pineda has 56 RBIs for Lincoln and is 14-9 in the circle. Nyema Curtis is hitting .534 with 41 RBIs.
