CIF-San Diego Section Gymnastics Championships

When: Friday; compulsory finals start at 12:30 p.m., with optional finals to follow around 3:30 p.m..

Where: West Hills High School

Tickets: $14 for adults, $9 for students.

Preview: Westview High School is aiming for its fourth consecutive team championship. Teams from Mt. Carmel, Steele Canyon, La Costa Canyon and Del Norte, among others, are hoping to take down the Wolverines, who won the Avocado League finals last week. Some of the top gymnasts to watch include Westview’s Bella Paguyo, Eva Fortenberry and Louisa Ulbrich; Del Norte’s Sophia Brensilias; Mt. Carmel’s Addison Lee and Lauren Mageo; West Hills’ Isabella Casmir; Steele Canyon’s Jane Brooms and Annabella Monroe; San Diego High’s Liliana Mendoza; and Helix’s Hallie Riggins.
