Goodbye, Live Nation’s National Concert Week All-In discounts, hello, Live Nation’s Ticket to Summer!
After 10 years of offering discounted tickets to an array of concerts in San Diego and across the nation, Live Nation — the world’s largest live events producer — is replacing its National Concert Week with the new Ticket To Summer.
Under either name, the offer will provide San Diego music fans with discounted tickets to more than two dozen concerts her this summer by everyone from Nelly, The Pixies and Brad Paisley to Billy Idol, Lucy Dacus and Little Big Town. The discounted concerts included begin with Thursday’s Willie Nelson- and Bob Dylan-headlined Outlaw Music Festival at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista and conclude with Judas Priest and Alice Cooper’s Oct. 18 concert at the same venue.
San Diego concert picks: Elton John, Willie Nelson, Diana Krall, Los Mirlos
Altogether, 14 of the 27 discounted National Concert Week shows here will be at the 19,442-capacity North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre, San Diego County’s largest outdoor venue. Also participating are two other area venues, both owned or operated by Live Nation: Gallagher Square at Petco Park and Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU.
At least three indoor San Diego venues that were included in the 2024 National Concert Week — The Magnolia, House of Blues and The Observatory — are not included in the debut edition of Ticket to Summer, which is focusing on outdoor venues.
Where last year’s National Concert Week All-In included 117 indoor and outdoor shows, this year’s Ticket To Summer deal is being offered for 27 outdoor concerts. The $30 discounted price is up $5 from last year’s $25 price. That increase may reflect the rising costs of mounting concert tours and a continuing increase in the price of tickets nationwide, which last year hit a record $135.92 average.
Ticket To Summer will offer discounts to concerts at more than 1,000 Live Nation venues across the country and in Canada. Among them are tours by major artists who are not currently scheduled to perform here, such as Rod Stewart, Avril Lavigne, Kesha and the San Diego-bred bands Slightly Stoopid and Pierce The Veil.
Ticket To Summer tickets go on sale to the general public May 21 at 10 a.m. at livenation.com. A list of all concerts here and nationwide for which the $30 tickets are being offered is available online at LiveNation.com/TickettoSummer. A pre-sale will begin May 20 at 10 a.m. for T-Mobile customers at t-mobiletickets.com and for anyone who signs up for rakuten.com.
The discounted tickets will be available while supplies last. More Ticket To Summer shows will be announced in the weeks and months ahead.
