UPDATED:

Turtleback Elementary School in Rancho Bernardo had an international theme for its recent book fair.

Attended by over 150 students, the event had them pick up a “port” from the Turtleback port Agency before “traveling” to each country to hear stories from around the world and collect a stamp from each place.

The featured countries were India, Japan, China, Italy, Scotland, Mexico, Spain, Guatemala and South Africa.

“A World of Stories” was organized by Turtleback librarian Deborah Tison and Turtleback Education Foundation President Archana Balasubramanian. The event concluded with a performance by Taiko drummers from Japan courtesy of the Buddhist Temple of San Diego. Each student received a souvenir as they left the event.
