The home of the San Diego Padres is set to host one of WWE’s longest-running live events this November.

Petco Park will host the Nov. 29 Survivor Series, marking the first major live WWE event held in San Diego since 2008. In an announcement Tuesday, Padres CEO Erik Greupner said the organization looks forward to welcoming wrestlers and fans to downtown San Diego.

“For over two decades, Petco Park has hosted the most iconic sports and entertainment moments in San Diego history and established a well-earned reputation as a world-class venue,” Greupner said.

Survivor Series, first held in 1987, is one of the WWE’s four biggest annual live events. But unlike WWE’s Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble and Summerslam, it has never been hosted in a stadium.

Fresh off Wrestlemania weekend in Las Vegas, Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque said in a statement that WWE believes, “Petco Park in San Diego is the perfect host for a historic night.”

San Diego’s WWE ties go back decades.

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and son Dominik Mysterio have represented their hometown in the ring with their attire and luchador-style wrestling, famously naming their signature move the “619.”

The Chula Vista natives are both ionate Padres fans, sending custom luchador masks and jackets to the team over the years. In 2023, the Padres honored Rey Mysterio with the ceremonial first pitch; Mysterio was in the stands for playoff games last fall.

Pre-sale registration for tickets to Survivor Series can be found here.
