Kiln, a co-working, office, meeting and event space, is celebrating its new Rancho Bernardo location with an April 5 event.

Locals can learn more about how they can utilize Kiln’s spaces at the free community wellness event that includes a fitness class and electric vehicles.

Pairing with The Studio by Catalyst, Kiln’s event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5 on its adjacent courtyard, 17190 Bernardo Center Drive.

The community wellness event is for adults only. Space is limited. RSVP at tinyurl.com/KilnRBevent.

Offerings will include an outdoor Isotiques class with Erika Baker, who will lead the bodyweight fitness experience. Other features will be a market-style experience with local vendors such as The Heights Golf Club, complimentary B12 shots by Dr. Kelly Austin, food and an opportunity to test drive Rivian’s latest electric vehicles, according to Nicholas Han, Kiln’s business development manager.

Tours of the 40,000-square-foot building will also be offered. Kiln will have 82 offices and meeting rooms of varying sizes, an event space, full theater, podcast room, workout area, atrium and courtyard when it opens in late May or early June, Han said.

The building is in the same area as San Diego Oasis and Kaiser Permanente.

“We’re excited to make a big splash in the community,” Han said. “This is a pre-opening event so people can see what we’re building.”

According to its website, studios provide private office and meeting room space for teams of 15 to 100 and private offices are for one to 15 people. Resident hips provide a dedicated desk for individuals and growing teams, while club hips are for professionals on the move.

There will also be spaces that can be used weekly, an option for remote-first teams that need to gather once or twice a week, according to its website, kiln.com/communities/rancho-bernardo.

Once open, Kiln will have a curated calendar of events designed to foster creativity, connection and performance, Han said.

Kiln began in Utah and has 17 locations across the country, Han said. Locally, it has facilities in Solana Beach, Leucadia and Carlsbad, but the new one in Rancho Bernardo will be its largest.

“The reason we wanted to be here is (Rancho Bernardo’s) proximity to the growing tech hub,” Han said. “It is also close to world-renowned schools and neighborhoods. This means people will not have to drive downtown and can be closer to their kids and schools. It is right off the 15, close to neighborhoods and large tech facilities.”

He said spaces will be available for individuals and companies.

“It is flexible, for one person to 100 people,” Han said.
