More students from Poway, Rancho Bernardo and adjacent communities have earned academic honors and degrees from colleges and universities across the country.

Two students from the Rancho Bernardo area were among the nearly 5,900 students who graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus at the end of the Fall 2024 term.
• Hayland Jones graduated with an Associate of Arts degree.
• Ali Mahin Torabi graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in cybersecurity technology and was named to the President’s List.

Hailey Milgazo of Poway was among the 827 students named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. Milgazo is a sophomore majoring in sociology and political science.
To be honored by the campus in Bloomington, Illinois, students had to earn a GPA of 3.50 or better.

Mya Kelley of the Rancho Bernardo area was among the more than 9,000 students named to Kennesaw State University’s Fall 2024 Dean’s List. Kelley is majoring in information security and assurance.
To be honored by the campus in Kennesaw, Georgia, students had to earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of nine credit hours.

Two students from the Rancho Bernardo area were among the 2,300 named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at the University of Tampa. To be honored, students had to maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
• Fioni Hansen of ZIP code 92128 is a sophomore majoring in communication and media studies.
• Whitney Ulrich of ZIP code 92127 is a senior majoring in communication and media studies.

Seton Hall University has named Brianna Millican of the Rancho Bernardo area to its Fall 2024 Dean’s List. To be honored by the campus in South Orange, New Jersey, undergraduates had to earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

Two students from the Rancho Bernardo area were named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. To be honored, they had to earn a semester GPA of 3.4 or greater.
Those honored were Natasha Yu of ZIP code 92128, a member of the Class of 2025; and Alexander Balikian of ZIP code 92127, a member of the Class of 2025.

Ten area students were among the approximately 1,700 named to the Biola University Fall 2024 Dean’s List. To be honored by the campus in La Mirada, students had to earn a semester GPA of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.
The following locals were honored:
• Students from Poway — Sophia Nau, a biological science major; and Allison Schreiber, a Spanish major.
• Students from ZIP code 92127 — Aidan Falk, a biological science major; Yoshua Hariman, a psychology major; Riley Hensley, a psychology major; Adrian Rong, a sociology major; Brandon Noah Ruiz, a business istration major; and James Wise, a Bible, theology and ministry major.
• Students from ZIP code 92128 — Serena Shu, a mathematics major; and Raiden Tran, a biological science major.

Sydney Bourassa of ZIP code 92127 was named to Emmanuel College’s Fall 2024 Dean’s List. Bourassa is a graphic design major.
To be honored by the campus in Boston, students had to earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

Alison Zorn of ZIP code 92127 was named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. To be honored, students had to earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and carry a course load of four or more graded credits.
Zorn, a junior majoring in mathematics, is a graduate of Del Norte High School.

Madi Thornal of the Rancho Bernardo area was named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. To be honored they had to earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete 12 graded credits during the semester.

Three area students were among the approximately 1,900 named to the Fall 2024 Provost’s List at Ohio University. They were Nichole Carrasco of the Rancho Bernardo area, Corbin Martinez of Poway and Casey Whiteley of Poway.
To make the Provost’s List, students had to earn at least a 3.5 or greater GPA at the campus in Athens, Ohio.
