The San Dieguito Youth Softball League in Cardiff kicked off its spring season on Feb. 22 at Cardiff Sports Park field #4 with an Opening Day Ceremony.
The event included a parade of teams, a singing of the National Anthem and Janie Reed throwing out the first pitch (Reed is a former collegiate All-American at the University of Oregon, silver medal-winning Olympian of the 2020 Summer Olympics, and professional softball player).
