The Ramona H.E.A.R.T Mural Project will host a walking tour of its murals on Saturday Feb. 15 as part of the Live Well San Diego “Love Your Heart” event.

To kick off the event, blood pressure monitoring will be done from 10 a.m. to noon on the patio of Ramona Family Naturals, 325 Sixth St.

The guided mural walking tour along Old Town Ramona Main Street will be led by group President Elaine Lyttleton from 11 a.m. to noon. of the Soroptimist International of Ramona will hand out free water to walkers.

Participants can print maps of the mural locations from the H.E.A.R.T. Mural website at ramonamurals.com or pick one up at the H.E.A.R.T. Mural table at Ramona Family Naturals on the morning of the event.   

Participants are also invited to enter an opportunity drawing to win prizes on the morning of the walk. The winner’s name will be drawn at noon at the registration site and does not need to be present to win. 

Every mural contains hidden “hearts” for viewers to locate. “H” for Historic and Hiking, “E” for Equine, “A” for Arts, Antiques and Agriculture, “R” for scenic rural vistas and drives, and “T” for Tasting of fine wines.

According to the American Heart Association, walking offers excellent exercise for heart health by improving cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and energy levels. In addition, it can fight weight gain to improve heart health overall and can also reduce stress.

Participants who begin their walk at Ramona Family Naturals are asked to park on the street while they are walking, to allow parking spaces for customers of the market.
