Encinitas Union School District’s general obligation bond Measure Z ed in the November election with 56.8% of voters ing making schools safer, more modern and better equipped for the future. The bond’s $158.3 million in funds will be used to make critical upgrades across all nine elementary school campuses, improving safety, modernizing facilities and enhancing learning environments. While the Encinitas schools vary in age, the oldest is Paul Ecke Central at nearly 100 years old.

Meeting the requirements of the bond, the district board is now seeking qualified and engaged community to serve on the independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.

Committee will provide transparency by informing the public about the use of funds and review expenditure reports to ensure that funds are spent solely on the projects outlined in Measure Z. The committee is responsible for presenting an annual report to the board summarizing their findings and observations regarding the use of bond funds.
