The second annual Rady Children’s Invitational men’s basketball showcase hasn’t tipped off yet. But next year’s teams have already been announced, and they’re big ones.
National powerhouse Kansas will play in the 2025 event at UCSD’s LionTree Arena, part of a field that will include Florida, Wisconsin and Providence.
The 2025 Rady Children’s Invitational will be played next Nov. 27 and 28. Games will air nationally on either Fox or Fox Sports 1.
“Quite simply, this is an amazing field,” said Mark Neville, CEO of Sports San Diego, the group that puts on the Rady Children’s Invitational. “It was our goal to bring top college basketball teams to our event and these teams fit that mold. We can’t wait for next year.”
Kansas is a four-time national champion that is ranked No. 1 in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Florida won national championships in 2006 and 2007, and has played in five final fours. Wisconsin has made four Final Fours, and Providence has played in two of them.
The Rady Children’s Invitational made its debut last season, with Oklahoma beating USC in the championship game the day after Thanksgiving.
This year’s invitational begins Nov. 28 at noon, with No. 6 Purdue taking on North Carolina State; a game between BYU and Ole Miss will follow. The winners will play each other Nov. 29 at 3 p.m., immediately following the third-place game.
