Re “UCSD academic workers ordered back to work, as judge halts strike over Gaza protest response” (June 7): How unfortunate the federal judge issued a back to work order for the striking UC professors and academic workers. One could only hope they would stay on strike indefinitely.
An opinion no doubt held by many is that these unhappy academics should be fired and given an opportunity to find employment in the real world. Their attempt to use the dedicated students at these universities as pawns to push their liberal political agenda is reprehensible. The time is past due for universities to quit protecting these social activist professors and hire academic workers who will share knowledge and expertise that will prepare students to compete in the real world.
