
Sara Rosenbaum, volunteer manager at Community Resource Center (CRC) in Encinitas, has been awarded the Encinitas Rotary Club 2024 Peacemaker Award. This annual award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting peace and understanding in the community, according to a news release.
CRC provides vital services to more than 6,400 people each year, providing domestic violence emergency shelter, emergency assistance, counseling, housing stability, and access to food.
CRC Chief Philanthropy Officer Debbie Murray said in the news release, “I am a firsthand witness to Sara’s community work in promoting peace. As volunteer manager, she builds peace by bringing together diverse community . Sara encourages cooperation on projects, handles conflicts, works to remove tension and cultural misunderstandings between communities, and conducts outreach to groups to educate and involve them in CRC’s mission, all with grace and inclusivity.“
Residing in Encinitas with her husband Ryan and their three sons, Rosenbaum has dedicated over six years to CRC.
“Encouraging a culture of empathy, understanding, and mutual respect between people is crucial to my role at CRC,” said Rosenbaum in the news release. “Healthy working relationships promote a robust volunteer team, and breaking down stigmas can mean even more comionate care for our clients. I feel lucky to be part of the CRC team.“
Encinitas Rotary Club Kent Pollock said in the news release, “Our club has long ed CRC’s mission in the community. We proudly recognize Sara for making a difference.”
