Point Loma artist wins watercolor award
Artist Julie Anderson of Point Loma won the Best of Theme award in the November San Diego Watercolor Society exhibition, “What’s the Story?” which runs through Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Watercolor Society gallery at 2825 Dewey Road in Liberty Station.
Anderson’s painting “Another Good Read,” which depicts a person reading a book, was selected by local artist Jesse Miller for the award out of 220 paintings.
“This painting seems to speak to the theme exactly,” Miller said. “As I look at it, I wonder what the subject is reading and what she is thinking about as she reads. There is a lot going on that suggests a story besides what is in her book, and I want to know what it is.”
