UPDATED:

Knowledge is power and the greatest asset you can acquire in order to compete for a fantasy football championship.

Here’s your 2023 preview of the Dallas Cowboys, the 13th of 32 team profiles during draft season:

2023 Fantasy MVP: CeeDee Lamb, WR

Lamb (ADP: 12) has increased his targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns in each of his three seasons in the NFL. He finished as the WR6 in standard formats (WR5 in PPR) in 2022 and is only 24 years old. He’s being drafted as a WR7, but could easily finish top-three this year.

2023 Fantasy Sleeper: Dak Prescott, QB

I actually expect Prescott (ADP: 85) to throw the ball more despite his coach’s assertion to the contrary. He’s being drafted as the overall QB10 after he was QB6 once he returned from a thumb injury Week 7 last season. Prescott has finished as the overall QB6, QB11, QB10, QB2 and QB7 in his five fully healthy seasons.

2023 Fantasy Bust: Tony Pollard, RB

Let’s put aside for the moment the serious leg injury Pollard (ADP: 17) suffered in January against the 49ers in the playoffs. Mike McCarthy will take over play-calling duties this season and I simply don’t trust his commitment to running the football. His pace of play will likely be slower than his former play-caller Kellen Moore as well, which means Pollard will have to maintain his highly-efficient production to finish as a top-10 running back in fantasy. It also wouldn’t surprise me if the Cowboys continue to limit his touches despite Ezekiel Elliott g with the Patriots, considering we won’t know if he’s 100 percent until we see him on the field in a game.

2023 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Deuce Vaughn, RB

Vaughn (ADP: 159) follows in the cleat marks of Darren Sproles, another tiny dynamo who electrified Manhattan, Kansas two decades ago. The 5-foot-6 tailback ed Sproles and Tyler Lockett as the only Wildcats to sur 5,000 career all-purpose yards. He was a three-time All-American because of his all-purpose credentials, who has maximized every inch of his stature at every level. Similar to Sproles, I don’t see why he won’t be able to do the same in the NFL.
