Here’s how hot it got Monday in nearly 30 San Diego County communities

Unusually cool ocean temperatures will prevent local beaches from rising above 80, but temperatures will reach the 90s, and possibly 100, across some inland valleys

The ocean was an unseasonably cool 64 degrees Sunday at Torrey Pines.

Tropical Storm Irwin, which recently swirled to life off the southwest coast of Mexico, is tracking to the west, where it is expected to fizzle by Tuesday. But forecasters said Irwin might send some wave energy to Southern California later this week.

Forecasters also said it appears that the county will experience much cooler weather during the Labor Day weekend.
