
Warm air from Texas and Mexico will flow into San Diego County this weekend, pushing temperatures into the upper 70s at the coast, the 80s immediately east of Interstate 5, and into the 90s in many places east of Interstate 15, the National Weather Service said.
An excessive heat watch will be in effect Saturday morning through Monday evening in the region’s deserts, where temperatures are expected to reach 111 to 113 in places such as Borrego Springs.
Sunday will be the hottest day of the weekend, and conditions will cool significantly on Monday.
It’s possible that a weak eddy will emerge, creating a marine layer that could make San Diego a bit cooler on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit Petco Park to play the Padres.
Temperatures will be in the low 70s on Saturday night when Rod Stewart performs at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista.
Sea-surface temperatures will generally be in the 71- to 73-degree range from Oceanside to Imperial Beach, and the surf will remain on the small side.
