UPDATED:

The National Weather Service says the risk of wildfires will rise in the eastern stretches of San Diego County Sunday and Monday as stiff winds and comparatively low humidity settle over the region.

The territory of concern is bordered by the Anza-Borrego desert to the northeast, Ramona to the west and Alpine to the south.

The winds will gust from 35 mph to 45 mph, and the relative humidity will be in the 20- to 30-percent range. The deserts are expected to reach 100 to 105 degrees until mid-week, when they’ll jump as high as 110 degrees.

Fair weather will prevail at and near the coast, where daytime highs will be in the low 70s all week.
