Take politics out of school board meetings

I’m with Dave Patterson and his concern about the political agenda of the current Ramona Unified school board. Many people are also unhappy. Most people will never come to a school board meeting or complain for a variety of reasons: lack of time, fear of reprisal, fear of retaliation, etc.

Dave has been a lone sentinel, vigorously monitoring the meetings and expressing his observation that this obsession with so-called bias in teaching is nothing more than right-wing politics.

School board , you should note that you were not elected to be partisan. You have no authority outside a board meeting. You have no business in classrooms or providing materials for teaching. And, we do have alternative schools that accommodate alternative curricula.

I the professional educators and trust that they will provide what our children need to become successful citizens of the 21st century. They do not need to be micromanaged by partisan board .
