The National Charity League of Poway sponsored a Christmas party at Valley Elementary School on Dec. 14.

After making Christmas cookies and crafts, the students from the ACES after school program got a visit from Santa Claus and each received a present.

The National Charity League of Poway has sponsored the party for the last 14 years. The Kiwanis of Poway and Poway library also were represented.

Itzy Haumschilt, who oversees the after school program, said the gift is the only one some of the children will receive for Christmas.
