The Padres will begin their first National League Championship Series since 1998 on Tuesday, facing the Philadelphia Phillies at Petco Park.
The Padres — who advanced with a thrilling victory over the Dodgers on Saturday night — will play the first two games at Petco Park, with Game 1 at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday and Game 2 1:35 p.m. Wednesday. FS1 will have the broadcast with Joe Davis and John Smoltz in the booth. (Full bracket.)
Thursday is an off day — but it’s the only scheduled one of the series, a unique occurrence caused by the lockout. The teams will play at 4:37 p.m. PDT Friday, 4:45 p.m. Saturday and 11:37 a.m. Sunday (if necessary) in Philadelphia, where the Phillies have not played in the NLCS since 2010.
There is no off day between Games 5 and 6. If necessary, the series would return to Petco Park on Monday, Oct. 24, for Game 6, with Game 7 to follow the next day, if needed. Both those games would be played at 5:03 p.m.
The World Series is scheduled to begin Friday, Oct. 28. Either the Padres or Phillies would start the series on the road, since every American League team remaining in the postseason had a better record during the regular season.
