Poway has a new sandwich spot on Pomerado Road.
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches opened on Sept. 28 with two special sandwiches, including one in honor of Poway natives Blink 182.
The new restaurant is located at 14827 Pomerado Road.
Ike Shehadeh, founder of Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, which has almost 100 locations in California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado, said he is excited about the opening.
“Poway! We’re neighbors and I love coming to hang out with you. I’ve got two new sandwiches with a special sauce I made just for you,” he said in a statement.
Ike’s in Poway will have two sandwiches that are exclusive to the store. Shehadeh created the “What’s My Age Again,” made with turkey, bacon, avocado, Ike’s Paguay sauce and pepper jack cheese. The Paguay Sauce is zesty, tangy, spicy and sweet, Shehadeh said.
The other is “The City in the Country,” a vegetarian version of our “What’s My Age Again,” with veggie bacon, avocado, Ike’s Paguay Sauce and pepper jack cheese.
Ike’s is known for various combinations for meat lovers, vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten free. They’re also known for their Dutch Crunch bread paired with Ike’s “Dirty Sauce,” a creamy garlic aioli toasted into the bread.
Shehadeh said he spends hours creating the menu for each new location and has an exclusive Instagram wall that is connected to the city and community. Each menu comes with sandwich offerings created just for that location, named as a tribute to local celebrities and icons.
